Field Day Fun

Last week, our school had Field Day.  It’s a school wide, outdoor celebration where the kids do different games.  It’s not super competitive– no awards are given or anything (boo-boo!), but the kids have a TON of fun. This year, we had “Opening Ceremonies” and Kyndall got to take part.  There was a torch run and everything! Each grades had a color they were supposed to wear–Kyndall was blue and.. Read More

Bowling, Field Trips, and Chaos

Remember this post, when I said I really liked clean sinks?  And how I felt like I really had it all together when my sinks were clean and shiny?  Well today, my sinks look like this: Obviously, my life is in chaos.  I need prayers, ya’ll.  If I can’t keep my sinks clean, what chance do I have of keeping control over ANYTHING in my life? In other news, Kyndall’s.. Read More

Project Life Tuesday, Digital Edition

This past week has been extremely busy.  The good kind of busy, but still, busy.  I didn’t get to catch up on any layouts–I barely had time to complete this current week. I really need to do better about limiting my photos–maybe choosing only ONE photo per day, or one per ‘happening’.  I’ve made myself a deal that once I’ve completed weeks 1-25, I can have them printed.  Hopefully, this.. Confession: I’m Not A Fan of Mother’s Day

First off, my Mother’s Day was wonderful.  I couldn’t have asked for a better day.  We started off the morning at church, ushering in a new pastor.  Lunch was at my moms house, with the family.  We moved from there to my in-laws, where the girls got in their first swim of the summer. (Yes, it was chilly.  And yes, they only swam for about 30 minutes….that was all they.. Read More

Throwback Thursday, Baby Girl Style

It seems like only yesterday that I was writing this post about my baby girl starting Kindergarten.  Tuesday night, she had her end-of-Kindergarten program.  Please excuse me while I go sob in the corner….. First day: And now: Instead of a graduation program, the students all sang songs to go along with each month of the year. They sang one “month” song and then performed a song or poem about.. Farms, Eggs, and Field Trips

Libby’s class went on a field trip to a local farm the other day. (We took this same farm field trip with Kyndall when she was in Kindergarten.)  Libby is such a girly-girl, and I wasn’t sure how she would like it.  Animals, insects… mud!  She completely surprised me and loved it!  Our first stop was the henhouse.  Everyone got to gather an egg and then pet the baby chicks… Read More

Conversations with K & L

On what Justin and I could do while both girls were gone to Blake’s birthday outing. Libby:  Daddy, you should take Mommy out to dinner.  And pay for it, because that’s romantic. Randomly: Libby:  Mommy, I really want two brothers.  One for you and Daddy and one for me and Kyndall. When playing with Kyndall the other day, she blew a dandelion and made a wish, not knowing I was.. Read More

She’s a Reading Girl, Ya’ll

Libby has been learning lots in Kindergarten.  The most impressive thing, to me, is reading.  Everyone learns at different levels, and her reading has improved dramatically over the last few months. Being a former Kindergarten teacher, I know that the “light” just eventually comes on for most kids.  One day, you’ll be teaching away and nothing clicks.  The next, they know everything you’ve been trying to teach them for months… Read More

Gymnastics and A Full Night’s Sleep

Both girls have been begging to go back to gymnastics for a while now.  They went to a gym in our area for a few months, but weren’t crazy about it so we stopped.  They both have friends that attend a different gym, and have been wanting to give this new gym a try.  Monday night, I finally caved. (Disclaimer:  Once I saw the price tag for this new gym,.. Read More

From the Camera Roll

It’s Friday!!! This has been the LONGEST week coming off Spring Break.  I’m ready to sleep in tomorrow, at least a little! As is tradition around here on Friday’s, here are a few of my favorite pictures from my camera roll. Silly girls at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  Not sure what these facial expressions are about, but that’s what happened. Sam-I-Am and his green eggs and ham. Sister photo.. Read More
