ABC’s, 123’s, and a box of tissues for Mommy

I feel like I’m forever apologizing for my lack of posts, so this time, I’m not going to do it.  No sir, no way.  Our days have been filled with soccer, soccer, and more soccer.  While Kyndall plays on the field, Libby plays on the playground.  It’s hard to tell which one runs the most! We had a remarkable date on Friday.  Libby went to Pre-K for the first time. .. Read More

Our Week in A Nutshell

I recently read a blog post titled “5 post ideas for when you have nothing to say.”  It made me giggle.  I have plenty to say, just no time to say it! 🙂 In the past week, we have had two birthdays (Mallory’s and my mom’s); 2 soccer games, Kyndall’s open house at school, a full week back at work for me, our 8th wedding anniversary, and the girls’ 4-and-6-year.. Birthday Traditions

Looking through pictures last night, I realized that I hadn’t done a post on our birthday cake-baking tradition.  Things were a little different on the girls’ birthday week this year because of some scheduling conflicts, but we still kept the tradition of the cake bake. For the past 2 years, on the girls’ actual birthdays, we have had the family over to eat.  Each girl gets to make her OWN.. Read More

A birthday story, part one

Four years ago today, we headed to Huntsville Hospital to meet our 2nd baby girl.  I was scheduled to be induced that morning, and my first labor had gone very quickly, so we all headed over bright and early.  All being all the grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc.  We got to HH and settled in pretty quickly, but it was a little after 8 before the nurses started my induction process. .. Birthday Party Bash **Warning: Photo Overload**

This year, the girls decided to have their party at Chuck-E-Cheese.  It drove my little planning-heart crazy to let someone else do everything, but I gave in.  They were so excited.  I think the biggest thrill for them was getting to go into the “Ticket Blaster” and catch as many tickets as possible.  And of course, there was a magic “1000 Ticket” card.  Here the girls are waiting for the.. Birthday Surprises

Birthday’s are always so much fun!! I love that, for my girls, they get to have “birthday weeks” instead of just a day!  Earlier this week, we got chickens for the girls.  Birthday surprise numero uno.  Today, Pops and Gra-Gra took the girls to pick out bicycles.  Birthday surprise numero dos. Here the girls are modeling their new bikes: And of course, my safety-conscious daughter (that would be Kyndall) insisted.. Read More

Summer Wishes

Some days, I wish I could send my girls to daycare. They need a break from each other, and I need a break from them. Today has NOT been one of those days. Days like today make me seriously consider homeschooling. I so want to soak up days like today. Our day went something like this. I woke up early and enjoyed a cup of coffee on the patio while.. Gladiator Battle

Disclaimer:  These photos somehow got lost in the backlog–they were actually taken on July 4th at the Renfro’s Independence Day Celebration. In the right corner, weighing in at 40 pounds, is Kyndall West! In the left corner, weighing in at a lean, mean 29 pounds, is the Libster! And the battle is on.  Kyndall gets a quick jab to the right, but Libby quickly dodges. Kyndall gets the upper hand.. Read More

4 and 6… almost

These two girls of mine are growing up way too fast.  It seems like just yesterday they were babies.  Now, in less than 2 weeks, those little ones will be 6 and 4.  Here is the lowdown, right now. Kyndall, almost 6: You are maturing more every day. You are my little tom-boy. Anything outside, and you are all about it. You are so excited about starting soccer and basketball.. Read More

Random Rewind

This week has been wonderful–super relaxing, with lots of time spent with friends and family.  I was going through my phone last night and found some things I just had to share. The first video in our rewind today is from last football season, fall 2011. And this second video is Kyndall’s music debut.  She wrote this song all by herself and sat down to sing it to us about a.. Read More
