The Weekend Stories

We spent our weekend enjoying homecoming games and soccer tournaments.  Libby was voted homecoming attendant by the youth league football team.  She got a crown and a sash, so she was super excited.  (Libby walks around with an invisible crown on anyways, so she was in Heaven with a real one!) Her friend Ty was her escort.  He’s a very tall second grader and Libby is a very tiny first.. Read More

Lately

How about that photo bomber in the back?  Hey Pops 🙂 I’ve been walking around with my hand under my belly a lot lately.  It helps with the pull from pregnancy, but mostly it’s just habit.  Libby will randomly walk up and put her hands under my belly, saying “I’ll hold him for a minute, Mama.”  Just precious. (PS:  This photo was very “in-the-moment”, thus Libby’s silly face!) Kyndall has.. Read More

SCHOOL is BACK!

In between soccer and cheerleading, school has started back.  As usual, our school had Open House night, where kids and parents both come to meet the teacher.  The girls love it, mostly because they get to see the friends they haven’t seen all summer.  (They love their teachers too, but they already know them, being TK’s and all.  That’s teacher’s kids, for those of you who don’t know.) Libby has.. Read More

Ra, Ra Ree! Kick ‘Em in the Knee!

As mentioned in my previous post, Libby has started cheering this year! She loves it, and I love watching her.  (I’m not a good “cheer mom” though.  I think they are cute, regardless of whether they do the cheers right or not!) Mal is helping coach her squad, which makes cheering even more special for Libby.  She walks around the house now, cheering or cartwheeling, or high-V’ing.  As if she.. Read More

Libby Brooke…On Turning Six.

Big Hearted.  Lipstick Lover.  Diva.  Performer.  Six years ago today, at 12:47 p.m., Libby Brooke joined our family.  You can find her birth story here. A few things about Libby: She is super tender-hearted.  One stern look from her dad or I and she breaks down. She still gets in the bed with us every single night. Her favorite foods are steak, shrimp, and pancakes. She loves being read to,.. Read More

Lately

I know I’ve done this twice before, but pregnancy is ex-haust-ing!! Even more so the third time around.  So please forgive my lack of posting–I’ve been doing lots of sitting around, eating, and sleeping….oh and, you know, growing a baby 🙂 We spent a few days around the 4th snuggling with this guy.  Kristi, Luke, and West came in to spend the long weekend at their parents and we all.. A Stuffed Animal Birthday Party

About two weeks ago, the girls started talking about hosting a birthday party for their stuffed animal, Cherry.  Invitations were handmade.  They both spent several hours in K’s room building a piñata for the party.   After two weeks of planning and creating, Libby decided on a date.  And never being one to ignore imagination, I let it happen. The girls spent their own money on silly string, party hats,.. Read More

On Imaginary Friends

When Kyndall was almost four, we went to an event at a local church.  (I call it an event because, for the life of me, I can’t remember what it was.  Possibly the anniversary party for my parents, but I can’t be sure.) At this event, a few older girls took Kyndall into a darker part of the church.  As I learned later, they left my four year old in.. Read More

Our Summer Manifesto

For the past several years, we have created a Summer Manifesto.  A list of things we want to do over the summer break. (You can find 2012’s here.  Apparently, I never posted 2013’s.)  We’ve been pretty successful getting these things accomplished in the past, and I have super high hopes for this summer.  It also helps give a sense of purpose to our summer, instead of just spending every day.. Dental Woes…

This sweet baby girl of mine went to the dentist last week to find out that she has five cavities.  Can you believe that?  FIVE!  I felt like THE worst kind of mother–I promise we blush and floss and I regulate candy as best I can.  The dentist must have felt sorry for us, because he explained that some people are just born with ‘bad’ teeth, and no amount of..
