Five on Friday 001

I feel like with all the house posts and Stitch Fix reviews and other super-important stuff, I’ve neglected sharing the day-to-day family things that I love sharing on this blog.  (Don’t get me wrong, I love sharing the house posts and Stitch Fix reviews and other super-important stuff too.  I just don’t want to leave out the little family updates.)  I stumbled across the Five on Friday link-up and I think it’s the perfect way to wrap up each week with an update.  This is episode 001 in what I hope to be an every-Friday series.

Five on Friday 001a

one.  Farm life.  I don’t want to give the impression that everything is glamorous and beautiful on the farm.  The bugs are abundant and I stepped in cow poop just this week.  But I love it.  I love every sweaty, stinky minute of it.  I love that my kids are getting to live this life.  I can’t wait to get more chickens and a few pigs and grow our farm even more than it already is.

Five on Friday 001e Five on Friday 001f

two.  Grandfather time.  Our school hosted a Donuts with Dad day and since Justin couldn’t take off work, Pops stepped up to the plate (literally!).  Then, the girls spent the night with Papaw and Nana so Justin and I could have a date/house planning night and we met up for breakfast the next morning at Ihop.  (I know I’ve told you this before, but Ihop has the most amazing drink ever– it’s the Tropical Island Twist and just telling you this makes my mouth water.)

Five on Friday 001

three.  Stump researching.  Justin salvaged an old tree stump from his grandparents’ house when they passed away.  We want to do something really special with it in the new house and I have been researching what we can do with it.  Now, we just need to decide which idea to go with!

Five on Friday 001b

four.  Family time.  Justin has been working a new schedule, which I dislike 90% of the time.  But every so often, he gets a long weekend off–Friday through Monday–and we get to spend tons of family time together.  It almost makes up for the long hours he has to work the other part of the time.

Five on Friday 001g

five.  Date night.  I have crazy eyes and I hate selfies but I so love this man.  Lately, we’ve been having a lot of serious discussions about building a house (and paying for said house).  We’ve disagreed on hardwood (Justin doesn’t want it in the kitchen but I do) and home exterior (Justin wants brick because it’s maintenance free and I want vinyl because it’s pretty) but I wouldn’t want to go through this process with anyone else.

Your turn–tell me one thing you’ve done this week!

Panama City Beach: GulfWorld

Panama City Beach-GulfworldWe ventured over to Panama City Beach for Spring Break and had the opportunity to visit GulfWorld. (Disclaimer:  I partnered with the Panama City Beach tourist center for this post and they gifted us with park tickets, but all opinions are my own.)

This wasn’t our first trip to GulfWorld, but it had been several years since we have been.  We enjoyed our last few trips, but there have been lots of new animals and shows added in the past few years.  GulfWorld is like SeaWorld’s little sister.  It has all the ocean animals and several amazing shows, along with awesome interactive programs.  It’s just a smaller park than SeaWorld, which actually helps add to its charm!

My girls are major animal lovers, so this was right up their alley.  We arrived at Panama City Beach’s GulfWorld just in time for the sea lion show.  Libby happened to be picked to participate in the show with Otto the sea lion.

Panama City Beach GulfWorld

She was able to feed Otto.  (Which totally cracked me up.  She is such a girly girl and she grabbed that fish without a seconds hesitation!)  She even gave him (well, showed him) the command to jump, and they did a few exercises together!

Panama City Beach GulfWorld

I was so amazed at the relationships between the animals and their trainers.  With just a simple hand movement, the animals knew what was expected of them.  The sea lion was amazing, but it was also hilarious.  We all stayed after the show to soak up some sea lion kisses.Panama City Beach GulfWorld Panama City Beach GulfWorld Panama City Beach GulfWorld

Following the sea lion show, we spent some time exploring the other animal habitats.  GulfWorld is home to penguins, sharks, sea turtles, and stingrays.  They also have a large exotic bird habitat and several other animal areas.  Our last show of the day was the dolphin show.Panama City Beach GulfWorld

Justin was chosen to do a little pre-show entertainment. GulfWorld does a great job of including the audience in everything they do.

GulfWorld is located in Panama City Beach, Florida, and is open 7 days a week, rain or shine.  I would recommend allowing at least three hours to fully explore the park.  There is a snack bar (with some really great nachos, in case you are wondering) with drinks and snacks.  General park admission is $29 for adults, $24 for seniors 55 and over, and $19 for children 5-11.  Children 4 years and younger receive free park admission.  GulfWorld also offers several interactive programs (that my girls begged to participate in!) for additional costs.  These interactive programs typically book quickly, so be sure to call ahead if you are interested in that!

If you are planning a trip to Panama City Beach anytime soon, we definitely recommend setting aside an afternoon to visit GulfWorld!

Currently, Vol. 2

First things first, I want to apologize for the lack of posting last week.  It was Book Fair week at school, which is always crazy.  By the time I got home in the afternoons, I was beat.  Done for.  Finished.

So we are starting our week off with a “Currently” post.   Be sure to check back Wednesday and Friday for our Panama City Beach recaps, too.

Currently 1

This girl loves to drive up the driveway.  Before we are even pulling in, she’s calling from the backseat, asking if she can climb up front and drive.  Maybe all this practice means she’ll be a safe driver once she gets her license….maybe.Currently 2

Via Snapchat (which I’m kinda-sorta-addicted to right now.  I’m CourtneyW41, add me.).  This little serpent was on the road going back to our hay barn–right where we walk!

Currently 3

A few months ago, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia.  I don’t have any issues with my sugar going high, but it drops low super fast.  Libby seems to have the same problem.  We’ve been keeping a check on her sugar now, too, and it consistently runs low.  Lots of snacks are in her future!

Currently 4

Sunny farm days call for snuggles with the big dog.  (Max has taken to the farm like a duck to water, by the way.)

Currently 5

This girl turned another year older.  When Justin and I met, she was, like, seven.  I can’t believe she is about ready to graduate from high school and go out into the real world.  Oh my.Currently 6

Farm chores.  Just feeding the heifers a little sweet feed.  (The girls argue over who gets to shovel the feed.  It’s the funniest thing!)
Currently 7

Papa had a medical scare this week.  His esophagus had a small tear on the inside, which required a short stay in the hospital.  That didn’t mean the kids took it easy on him though–they will crawl on him and steal his food and fight for his attention, regardless of where he is!Currently 8

Be still my heart.  This boy is the older brother the girls didn’t get.  We love him so.  I think the girls would love to steal him away and have him come live with us, but we don’t quite have the room at Pops and Gra-Gra’s house!Currently 9

Evidence of above-mentioned book fair.  On Friday, Justin brought the boss to work for a while.  He thought he ran the place, that’s for sure.Currently 10

Our school hosted its first annual Father/Daughter dance.  I don’t know who was more excited–the girls or Justin!  They got all dressed up and cut a major rug at the dance.  I’m so thankful they got to have this time together!
Currently 11

At current count, we have four ducks and six chickens.  Each time Mallory makes a trip to Tractor Supply for food and shavings, she comes back with more birds! The kids adore them though.  They check the food, water, and shavings multiple times a day.  They love to just sit in the garage and watch them run around.  They have named every single bird.  Me?  I’m just waiting for them to start laying eggs!  These birds have gotta earn their keep somehow.Currently 12

This sweet baby boy.  He is almost 16-months old and we are working on weaning him from breastfeeding.  It is not going well, though.  He just doesn’t understand.  At naptime the last several days, he has cried himself to sleep.  It breaks my heart.  I keep hoping each day is going to be better, but so far it’s not.  Say a prayer for us, would you?

Now let’s talk.  What is one thing you’ve been doing, currently?

Fixer Upper: An Introduction and To-Do List

Fixer Upper is my one of my favorite shows.  And I’m definitely channeling my inner JoJo with our old house.  I shared the story of our house when I made our building announcement.  I didn’t share that the current house (which will be an attached garage/bonus once we build) is a bit of a fixer upper.  We have had several renters and it is in need of an upgrade/really good cleaning.

Fixer UpperThe outside doesn’t need much work.  When this is turned into a garage, there will be two garage doors on the front there, as well as a brick exterior instead of the vinyl.  The porch on the back of the house will be my new laundry room.

Fixer Upper KitchenWhen you walk in the current front door, you are in the dining area looking into the kitchen.  Immediately to your right is a half bathroom (not pictured.)  This entire area will be painted, but other than that, it just needs a really good cleaning.

Fixer Upper Living 2To the left of the entrance and kitchen is the living room.  Again, it needs a fresh coat of paint.  All the carpet is coming up.  It’s gross.  Our first set of renters sneakily brought a puppy in and let that puppy do it’s business ev-ery-where.  It’s a hot mess and it stinks to high heaven.  The downstairs flooring is stained concrete, which I highly recommend.  (One tip:  make sure you seal the concrete stain extremely well.  Ours wasn’t sealed so well originally and it ruined all our socks.)

Fixer Upper Stairs

You can see the grossness in this picture.  Just yuck.  Upstairs, we currently have three bedrooms and a bathroom.  In the current master (future guest room), we are going to replace the carpet with new flooring and paint the walls.

Fixer Upper MasterGuest

The additional two bedrooms will take the most work.  Carpet is being replaced.  Walls are being painted.  And that entire middle wall and entrance area will be taken down to make one big room.

Fixer Upper Bonus

I have big dreams of a Fixer Upper Chip-style demo day, but I’m pretty sure Justin has other ideas.

Fixer Upper BedroomBonus 1

He is very organized and methodical about things.  I don’t see him jumping through that sheetrock like Chip would.  He will, however, measure and remove strategically so that we can reuse every possible piece.

Fixer Upper BedroomBonus 2

Maybe he’ll at least let me swing a sledgehammer a few times?  We’ll see.

So, to recap our to-do list:

  • Remove all carpet, padding, etc.
  • Put in new flooring.
  • Remove wall and doorways between two bedrooms.
  • Paint every square inch of sheet-rock (this even includes ceilings!)
  • Seal concrete floors downstairs.
  • CLEAN!

I’m wishful thinking that we can knock out that to-do list in a few weeks.  Things are going so great at my moms (having extra sets of hands with all my wild children is a major plus!) but we are somehow accumulating more stuff and need somewhere to put it, asap.

As far as the new house goes, we have our plans, have met with a few builders and are getting ready to meet with banks.  This will be my least favorite part, I already know.  I’m taking notes though and I can’t wait to share all about the bank process (good and bad!) with you.

What I’m Into, March 2016 Edition

SpringSpring. It’s just my favorite. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right. 70’s and sunny. The pollen isn’t my favorite, but eh, you take the bad with the good, right?

Learned.

It’s no secret that I love listening to Jamie Ivey’s Happy Hour podcast.  There is all sorts of wisdom to be gleaned there.  On a recent episode with Rachel Hollis, I jotted down this wisdom:

  • When you see someone being really successful in one thing, know that they are failing somewhere else.  Priorities.  No one does it all.
  • Nobody gets to tell you how big your dreams are.  If you can’t find a door, go through a window. (This said in reference to self-publishing her book when other publishers said no.  It is since a best seller.)

I also re-learned (is that even a word? If not, I’m making it one.) that I love having my nails done.  I was given a gift card as a Valentine’s Day present and went to have my nails done before our beach trip.  It just makes me feel more put together and well, pretty, to have color on my nails.

Read and Reading.

What I'm Into March

I’m currently making my way through Sandra Brown books.  She has quickly moved to the top of my favorite author list.  I’ve slowly been reading Fervent, one chapter at a time.  I’m going back through the InCourage book study, too.  Priscilla Shirer is so wise and I find myself reading in her voice.

I got sucked into an Amazon special and have read several freebies, including Brazen by Maya Banks.  It’s romance and it’s complete smut but it’s mindless reading and I loved it.  Definitely the type of book to read sitting out by the pool or beach this summer.

TV.

Oh.my.gosh.  You guys.  We are totally swept up in Blindspot on NBC.  We are eagerly awaiting the reappearance of The BlackList on April 7.  I’m wanting to jump back into Pretty Little Liars as well, if I can convince Justin.  I watched a few episodes back when I was running and was definitely tempted to go all out Netflix-binge.  I didn’t, but I’m feeling the pull again now.  As in, I’ve already gotten my hands on Season 1 and 2 on DVD.

Music.

The Biebs has made quite the come-back and I am enamored.  We’ve been jamming to Sorry and Love Yourself pretty often.  He’s come a long way since his “Baby” days.  Also on repeat:  Break Up in a Small Town(Sam Hunt), Burning House (Cam), and Hands to Myself (Selena Gomez).

Things I Love.

PCBFor Spring Break, we slipped away to Panama City Beach with our friends, the Hodges.  We had the absolute best time–I’ll be sharing all the details in a future post.  One of my favorite parts?  The closeness.  It was a one bedroom, two bath condo and we were all together, all the time.  But it was so great.

EasterEaster happened.  I feel like that deserves its on post as well, but here we are all dressed up.  Last year, we participated in Forget the Frock but I ran into some issues with the website this year when trying to order, so we missed out.  Thank goodness GraGra stepped up to the plate and got our attire all worked out.  (This picture makes me laugh–my Papaw took it on burst, so there were about 27 copies of the same image.  He didn’t understand that we wanted him to move closer.  We couldn’t get the dogs to move out of the way.  Real stuff.)

Favorite Blog Post

Ugh–It’s a tie! I can’t choose between Babies Wearing Glasses and Building A House:  Tips For Choosing A House Plan.  Apparently, neither could you guys–both posts are sitting equal with the same number of views!

Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Ipsy Glam Bag Review, Our Alabama Life.com

Ipsy Glam Bag is a $10 beauty subscription service that sends subscribers a monthly assortment of cosmetics and beauty accessories.  At the sign up, you will complete a beauty quiz to determine your preferences and Ipsy uses this to determine what products to include in your glam bag.  Each bag contains 5 full- or trial-sized products.

I don’t subscribe to Ipsy (yet) but my sister does, and that’s just about the same thing, right?  What’s hers is mine and all that 🙂  Of the two of us, she is definitely the makeup savvy one.

Let’s review what was in her March bag.Ipsy Glam Bag Review, Our Alabama Life.com

Be A Bombshell Baked Bronzer in Heat Wave; Full size, Value: $15.99

Bronzer is one of my favorite beauty products already, so I was anxious to try this one.  It went on smoothly, but I was disappointed in the color.  It was very sheer and didn’t show up well on my face at all.

Ipsy Glam Bag Review, Our Alabama Life.com

Model Co. LipLacquer in Socialite; Trial Size, Value: $12.00

I am not typically a fan of lip gloss.  I don’t like the bright shine or the feel.  This ipsy glam bag product was the exception.  It looks super bright red, but goes on much lighter.  It didn’t have too much shine and it felt amazing on my lips!

Ipsy Glam Bag Review, Our Alabama Life.com

Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum.; Full Size, Value: $14.20.

I’m going to be honest–I didn’t even use this product.  I don’t typically have an issue with acne (I probably just jinxed myself by saying that!) so I had no reason to try it out.  Had this been my bag, they probably would have included some type of wrinkle cream instead of the acne serum 🙂

Ipsy Glam Bag Review, Our Alabama Life.com

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer; Trial Size, Value: $26.84

This was my absolute favorite product in the entire March Ipsy glam bag.  I struggle with dark circles and this concealer was magic.  Bye Bye Under Eye, for reals.  If you have issues with dark circles or even under eye anything, you need this concealer.

Ipsy Glam Bag Review, Our Alabama Life.com

OFRA eyeliner in Coffee Bean; Full Size, Value: $13.00

This eyeliner when on smoothly and I liked the color.  It stayed on really well throughout the day, without smudging, which is always a plus.  However, I don’t like the ‘pencil’ part.  Who has time to sharpen their eyeliner pencil?  Not me, that’s for sure.

IPSY GLambag reviewVerdict:  This box had a value of $82.03.  Not too bad for a $10 subscription.  Might even be good enough to subscribe myself.  I could stand to try out a few new products!

WITL Thursday

Libby still wasn’t feeling well today, so it was just Kyndall and me heading out in our St. Patrick’s Day greens.  She was a little unhappy about only having on a little green, but the only solid green shirt she had was a dri-fit tee.  Normally, this would be fine but today, her class is taking a field trip to the theater.  She needed to be a little dressier for today that usual.  (Notice I said a little.  It’s a battle getting this girl dressed in the morning!)

When we walked out the door, Libby was still snoozing.  That sick baby needs her rest!  She did text me from Meme’s phone when she woke up though….

WITL Thursday 2

With Spring Break coming up, the library is hopping.  All the kids want to swap out their books before we are out for a whole week.  I shelved no less that 40,675 books just before lunch.

After school, we had an appointment for Easter pictures.  A sweet friend of ours who is a retired photographer scheduled some sessions to raise money for her upcoming mission trip.  Of course, I jumped at the opportunity.

We have talked about getting chickens again for a while now, and then Mallory snapchatted this image to me today.  (Is snapchatted a real word?  If not, we’re making it one!)

FullSizeRender (18)

She picked up seven chicks and two ducks for us to take to our Easter pictures.  Jase was amazed.  He would reach out and touch one and then just start giggling.WITL Thursday 3

Tina had a rabbit, too, so we had our pictures made with all sorts of animals.  After pictures, we went home and had grilled pork chops for supper.

I was super tired and not feeling so great, so I passed bath duty off to Justin for the night.  My parents stepped in to help, of course.  Divide and conquer and all that 🙂

Jase hasn’t been sleeping well AT ALL this week, so it was a battle just to keep my eyes open until bedtime.  Around 8:00, I tucked the girls into my bed and attempted to watch a few minutes of a Blacklist rerun with Justin, but I didn’t make it long.  We transferred the girls from my bed to the couch and fell asleep ourselves around 9:00.  Fingers crossed Jase sleeps a little better tonight!

Week in the Life: Wednesday Words + Photos

Wednesday morning began much like the rest of the week.  Everyone up, showers, breakfasts.  Today, Meme came to the house to keep Jase, so I didn’t have to pack his bag or get him dressed for the day. Libby whined all morning long about a sore throat.  (Libby isn’t usually the best at mornings so I didn’t think anything about it.)

There is an entire extra bed and an extra leg of this couch that one of the girls could sleep on, but they insist on sleeping side by side.  This is the beauty of sisters.
Week in the Life Wednesday 5

At school, I had a meeting with Scholastic about an upcoming book fair.  Libby came to see me in the middle of my meeting, around 9am, again complaining with a sore throat.  Like the good mama I am, I shared my Mt. Dew and sent her back to class.  (No fever, no missing class.)  A few minutes later, when the meeting was over, I walked down to check on her.  She looked like she didn’t feel well, and since she was sick all last week, I decided to call the doctor.  Of course, the doctor wanted to see her.  I walked back down to her room to tell her teacher she would be checking out and when I hugged her, she felt warm.  The nurse confirmed a 101 degree fever.

I called my emergency help—Meme–and she came to take Libby to the doctor.  The verdict?  Strep throat.  Yep, good mama I am. Sheesh.  This is how she was when we got back home from school:

Week in the Life Wednesday 1

Hannah took Jase outside to play so I could love on Libby for a few minutes.  Another great thing about living with my parents right now?  There is never a shortage of helping hands!
Week in the Life Wednesday 2

Wednesdays are our Jayden-days.  He usually comes home with us a few random days a week, but he always comes on Wednesdays.  He comes home with us after school and we take him to church and then back to his home afterwards.  We so love this sweet boy and his mama!

Week in the Life Wednesday 3

I took the big kids to meet Justin at Jack’s and he took them on to church.  I spent some time with Libby.  Jase curled up with Pops in his recliner and read a few books, watched a little tv.  Jase has become really attached to Pops over the last few weeks.  Sometimes I think he even prefers him over me, which is so not ok.

Week in the Life Wednesday 4

Kyndall and Justin were back home around 8, so we took a few minutes together to talk about our day.  The girls were asleep by 8:30 and I fell asleep while trying to get Jase to sleep, so I wasn’t far behind!

Week in the Life: Tuesday Words + Photos

Tuesday morning, my alarm went off at 5:30.  Ten minutes later, I rolled out of bed and hit the shower.  Typically, our morning routine is the same.  I wake up first and get my shower.  Justin wakes up and gets dressed, then wakes the kids up and supervises their getting dressed.  I do everybody’s hair (except Justin’s- ha!) and then they all go downstairs for breakfast and to pack lunches while I finish getting ready.

WITL Tuesday 5Jase went to Papaw and Nana’s again today, so we were all dressed, packed up, and out the door by 7:05.   Papaw meets us at the car as we pull in his driveway, so drop off is quick and painless.  The girls and I are walking in the school door by 7:30.  Today, both girls have to run a timed mile as part of their physical fitness test.  Kyndall is excited and already has her competitive mindset going.  Libby could care less and will probably finish near the end–athletics just isn’t her thing!

WITL Tuesday 2

Libby and her friend Brook-Lynn just happen to come to the library at the same time to exchange their books, so I snapped a quick picture.  She is loving the Field Trip Mysteries books right now and is quickly making her way through the entire series.  As expected, she jogged her mile and finished somewhere in the middle of the pack.  Running just isn’t her thing, and that’s ok.

WITL Tuesday 1

A little while later, I caught up with these girls in TAG.  They are such sweet besties.  My future-Olympian ran the mile in 6 minutes and 56 seconds.  She was the first girl in her class to finish and the PE coach said she sprinted the entire thing.  She came to the library to tell me, all red-faced and out of breath and beaming from ear to ear. 🙂

On the way home, we jammed out to Break Up in A Small Town by Sam Hunt.  It’s the girls absolute favorite song right now and we keep it on repeat.

WITL Tuesday 6

When we got home, we spent a few minutes doing homework and the rest of the evening outside.  It was a gorgeously warm day and we soaked up every single ray of sunshine.  Jase played in the driveway for a while.

WITL Tuesday 4

And then hung out in the hammock with Mallory.  The girls piled up in the hammock after this picture and read their books for a while.

WITL Tuesday 3

Mallory, Hannah and I ran again.  One mile in 9 minutes and 20 seconds, much slower than Kyndall’s mile but we aren’t ashamed.  We even threw in a few sprints for good measure.

Being on the farm means bath time needs to happen every night.  The kids play outside and get stinky and dirty and a hot bath is much-needed.  Bedtime is at 8:00.  Justin was working late so after all the kids went to sleep, I curled up in bed with my newest Sandra Brown book and read for a while before going to sleep.

I’m not even sure what time Justin came in.  The overtime check will be nice and goes a long way towards saving for our new house, but I miss my husband! 🙂

Week in the Life, Monday Words + Photos

LIFE LESSONS FROM A HOUSE (1)Monday morning dawned dark and early.  Thanks to the time change, there was no gorgeous sunrise peeking through my window like I’ve gotten used to.  Mallory has teacher observations this week and since we are sharing a bathroom with her right now, I had to get up a little earlier than usual, too.

Breakfast.  Waffles for Kyndall, cereal for Justin and Libby.  Jase and I munched on a breakfast bar as I was getting ready.

On Monday, Jase stays with Justin’s parents, so we all loaded up in the Tahoe to make the drive to their house and school.

WITL Monday 5

#BackseatSelfie.

First thing at school, I dealt with some new books.  We are very lucky at my school in that we have super successful book fairs, so I am able to purchase new books quite regularly.

WITL Monday 2

I have a little break on Monday, so I usually save any copying I have to do for then.  Today’s copies were for the spring book fair, and since I see K-4, that’s well over 1000 copies.  A large part of my day was spent running back and forth between the library and the workroom.

WITL Monday 1

A few weeks ago, we celebrated Dr. Seuss week.  Our theme was superhero’s, so our reading coach and I had every student write out why they thought their teacher was a superhero.  They could choose to do an additional paper for an “extra” teacher, and I got a few.

WITL Monday 4

Some of the reasons my students think I am a superhero?

  • I’m an awesome reader.
  • I let them borrow books.
  • I help all students find books they love.
  • I always help them when they need it.
  • I take care of them and am awesome. <–Their words, not mine 🙂

I’m trying so hard to drink more water.  It helps that I have a cute cup with my initials, custom ordered from the Southern Raised Gypsy Etsy shop.

WITL Monday 3

Around 3:00, we picked up Jase and headed for home.  We spent a few minutes just relaxing outside while the girls finished their homework.

WITL Monday 6

And letting Jase hang out with Taco.  He absolutely loves it when Taco makes his bray sound.WITL Monday 7

Once all the homework was finished and packed up for the next day, we went walking through the pasture to check on the baby cows.  There was a new baby born last night and the girls couldn’t wait to see it!  Of course, we didn’t get a great picture– mama cows don’t much like a whole gaggle of humans checking out their baby.
WITL Monday 9

Spur of the moment, we decided to run.  (I used to be a running-addict, but it’s been two whole years since I have run any distance at all.)  Mallory, Hannah and I did one entire mile without stopping in under ten minutes…..it was something like 9 minutes, 35 seconds. WITL Monday 8

Remember yesterday, when Kyndall had her legs taken out from under her by Bella?  That happened again, only this time it was Hannah and Max.  I know it hurt.  I know it did.  But if we had been videoing this crash, we would win America’s Funniest.  Seriously.WITL Monday 10

Dinner was lasagna.  Bath time happened again tonight because we had mud/cow manure all over the backs of our legs.  Nice, right?  (Bath time usually only happens every other night around here–is that gross?)  We got the girls all tucked into their fort-beds and then Justin and I (and a sleeping Jase, because he is rotten and can’t be laid down without me there!) piled up on the couch to watch Blindspot.

WITL Monday 4

#CrazyEyes.

Things to know:

  • All photos were taken with my iphone again (because not only is my Canon in need of a major upgrade, but the battery is dead and I can’t find my charger!) and edited with PicMonkey.
  • Papa had us searching every corner of the 400 acre farm for a lemon tree.  I think it was a wild goose chase just to see how far we would go.  HE was on the four-wheeler, so HE wasn’t tired at all 🙂
  • Max has adapted quite well to farm-life, but he hasn’t figured out that he can go under the gates.  If you close the gate, he will sit down and whine until you return.  It is the funniest thing!
