On Broken Dreams

Ok, “On Broken Dreams” is a tad dramatic for what this post is really all about.  Don’t get too worked up about that title yet, until I explain 🙂 This weekend, I was supposed to run the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville, TN.  I paid the race entry fee and EVERYTHING.  And I didn’t go.  For several reasons, but mainly because I didn’t train for the run.  Several weeks.. Friday Links and Loves, 2nd Ed.

I’m starting a new trend, ya’ll.  Let’s see if I can stick with it, for once 🙂  Each Friday I’ll do a Links and Loves post, where I share everything I’m loving right now, whether it be a post I’ve read or a product I’m digging.  One day, I might even come up with a cute ‘linky’ image and everything.  You can see Links and Loves, 1st edition here. Throwback Thursday Stories: Vegas, Baby!

Linking up with The Mom Creative again for #TBTStories.  My scrapbooking, memory-keeping heart is loving this! This photo was taken almost 9 years ago.  Justin and I had been married around a year when we were invited to fly out to Las Vegas to watch Supercross Finals.  That’s dirt bike racing, just so you know.   And back when Travis Pastrana was still racing.  It was our first “real” trip.. Keeping It Real

About 2 weeks ago (OK, maybe 3…) I started “Spring Cleaning” around the house.  I started in Kyndall’s room and moved through there pretty quickly.  I boxed up clothes for donation, separated what I wanted to keep for Libby, and laid out a few nicer things for consignment. Then I moved on to Libby’s room.  And that’s where I got stuck.  The spring-cleaning-mood left me.  I had all the passed-down.. Read More

Clean Eating, Take Two

With all the traveling we’ve been doing lately, my clean eating train has been derailed.  I’ve done pretty well through the week, it’s the weekends (when we are traveling) that get me!  Eating clean on the road is TOUGH!! We fully intend to stay home the next few weeks, so I’m jumping back on the clean eating train.  I’m even going to ATTEMPT to take out that pesky daily Dr… Read More

Celeb Look-Alike

This week, we’ve been doing a lot of this: Getting back into the routine (this is the first full week of school since before Christmas) has been tough!  After school, dinner, and homework, we all just want to crash.  On top of all that, K got the nasty stomach bug on Tuesday afternoon and was up sick ALL night.  I don’t think I’ve caught up on sleep yet, and it’s.. Weekend Wrap-Up

We have had a super low-key weekend and it has been wonderful! On Saturday, we slept in (ok, only until 7:30, but that’s better than usual) and then had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes and biscuits with chocolate gravy are our go-to weekend breakfasts. After lounging around for a little while, we made a quick run to town for groceries. We made Justin take us to Ulta.. Read More

Piggy-bank fund for Boston Marathon Treadmill

It’s official, guys.  I am strongly coveting my own Boston Marathon Treadmill by ProForm.  I mean, how pretty is this? Doesn’t that just make you want to go for a run?  And as many miles as I’ve logged on my cheap-o treadmill, I think I deserve it!  Too bad one of our resolutions is to pay off some bills before making any non-necessary purchases.  (And I tried to convince J..
