The One in Which I Direct A Wedding

I was honored to be asked to direct a wedding this weekend.  It was the wedding of my very best friend from high school, Cassie’s, sister.  And the first wedding I have ever directed.  We have had the hottest, dry-est summer I can remember, but the week leading up to the wedding it has rained non-stop.  And the wedding was outdoors. The rehearsal dinner went off without a hitch.  We.. Read More

Summer Memories and a Good Book

I am so thankful for the wonderful memories we are making this summer!  Yesterday, we took the kids to see a movie at the Monaco and then bowling.  My girls had never been bowling before and they loved it!  (The photos aren’t so great, thanks to the lighting.) And today, we went swimming!  Don’t you love that hair?  Crazy hair is a sign of too much fun–did you know that?.. Read More

Ordinary Days

Today has been a perfectly ordinary day.  There was mostly good.  There was a little bad.  It’s not really worth retelling.  Our perfectly ordinary day has, in an odd way, made my heart heavy.  I’m so very thankful that my girls spent the day splashing and giggling at the pool.  I love that we spent time with friends and basked in the sunshine.  I am undeniably grateful that we have.. Brave

On Sunday, we went with a few of our favorite people to see the new movie, Brave.  It was super cute and had a great moral lesson–Don’t be disrespecting your mama!! πŸ™‚ These kids are so great at taking pictures–I guess they are somewhat used to it πŸ™‚ Then, Sunday night, we started a new class at church for girls, grades K-4.  It’s titled Girls of Grace, and we kicked.. A birthday party

Happy birthday to my Daddy!! He turned a ripe old 39 today! (Just kidding, he’s a tad older than that, but we’ll keep it a secret!)  Here he is with all his girls: We celebrated his happy years with a dinner at my parents house and a homemade peach cobbler.  Yummy πŸ™‚  Happy birthday to the best Daddy in the world! We also spent the day with the Johnson family,.. Read More

A Wedding Story

Last night, Justin and I went to a wedding in Florence (the first of three that we will be attending this summer….guess it’s wedding season for our friends!).  One of my sweet friends from high school got married, and it was so much fun seeing several of the people that I graduated with.  Here we are all decked out and ready to go: Of course, the girls had to pose.. Flea Market Finds……or lack of

Today we went to the Nashville Flea Market.  Thank goodness we went with great friends or the day would have been a bust! It was not what I expected at all.  I was hoping for a leisurely day looking through some junk.  That’s basically what I got, only the junk was EXPENSIVE!! I’m talking hundreds of dollars expensive.  Carrie found this really cute shutter that she considered refinishing… until we.. Read More

Just for Fun

Today was spent swimming, eating, and visiting with some of our dearest friends. It was wonderful. Kyndall did get stung on the finger by a wasp.  War was declared.  Mommies with flyswatters and two types of buspray vs. all wasps in the pool area.  We left the little wasp bodies where they fell.  We wanted to send a message. Me? I got attacked with water guns a few times… The.. Read More

Monday Musings

We had such fun celebrating Father’s Day yesterday with the family.  Here are a few pictures from our fun day: And today, we took part in a local movie theater’s free movie day:  Kung Fu Panda 2.  A free movie and lunch at Rosie’s Mexican Cantina with friends?  A perfect start to our week! That sure looks like a lot of kids for 5 mommies to handle, huh? πŸ™‚

Camping Out

Last night we took the girls camping out behind the house.  Remember that we live on about 400 acres of farm land, so when I say behind the house, take that loosely.  Justin worked most of the afternoon finding the perfect spot, bringing rocks from the creek to circle the fire, cutting wood for the fire, etc.  The result was a perfect camping spot overlooking our pond.  We grilled hot..
