Today we went to the Nashville Flea Market.  Thank goodness we went with great friends or the day would have been a bust! It was not what I expected at all.  I was hoping for a leisurely day looking through some junk.  That’s basically what I got, only the junk was EXPENSIVE!! I’m talking hundreds of dollars expensive.  Carrie found this really cute shutter that she considered refinishing… until we realized it was $599.  That’s five hundred and ninety-nine dollars.  I mean, come on!

Another thing I so did not expect was all the booths set up with grocery items–shampoo, conditioner, deoderant, snacks, bedroom items(if you know what I mean). Seriously?  At a flea market?  Couldn’t they just have stopped by the Dollar General for that stuff?

I did make it home with a neat wire basket that I’m going to put in my pantry.  I stumbled across an amazing deal on some yellow dishes, but thanks to a certain man who will remain nameless, I didn’t get them.  He will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever live that down, by the way.  And he has a LOT of making up to do.  And that is all I’m going to say about that…..for now.

Kyndall and Libby both got pink sock monkeys that are really cute.  And then Kyndall picked up this vintage cigarette case:

The picture is horrible, but you get the idea.  It’s silver plated with dolphins etched on the front and the inside has two clips, which were intended to hold cigarettes obviously, but Kyndall thinks its perfect to hold money.  So, it’s her new wallet. 🙂

The kids had a great time playing, watching movies in the truck, and posing with stuffed dogs….

Bottom line:  Unless you are going with great friends just for fun, or you have an entire day to kill with absolutely NOTHING better to do, or you want to drive 2 hours to pick up some bedroom items (kidding! I kid!)……….I don’t recommend the Nashville Flea Market.
