Thoughts from Today

1.  This post by Lisa Jo Baker.  If you don’t read her blog regularly, I definitely recommend bookmarking it.  She always has good things to say, but this post came at just the right time.  I’ve said it many times before, and I’m sure I’ll say it many times again:  I LOVE this season of the year.  The holidays, the cool weather, the chaos.  However, it IS easy to get.. Guest Post: Kyndall West

So the countdown to Christmas begins.  If you haven’t heard me say it already, I LOVE this time of year!  It’s chaotic and busy and exhausting, but I enjoy every crazy second of it. Kyndall has been wanting to post on the blog for a while now, and she was so excited about her elf coming the other night that I gave in. The following story is brought to you.. Read More

The Christmas Lens

We had the most amazing Christmas, spent exactly the way it should be–low key, with our family. Christmas Day we stayed in our pj’s until 5pm. We only changed to go eat at Meme’s. The day after Christmas was spent shopping & packing, because on the 27th we left for Disney World!!! That’s right people. We rang in 2013 at the most magical place on earth! We drove back through.. Monday Memories (A December Daily 2012 post)

This week of December Daily was full of Kyndall fighting the flu.  I didn’t want to work on these pages because they seemed so blah–full of us in our pajamas sitting around the house, watching tv or playing iPods.  There wasn’t anything exciting to share, or memorable to record.  But then, when I got started, I realized that sitting home, in itself, is memorable.  We didn’t do any BIG things,.. A FAVORITE THINGS party!!

I hosted a “Favorite Things” party at my house last night.  (If you have’t heard of them, check pinterest or google it–you’ll find tons of posts and pictures.)  The guest of honor was my friend Carrie, who is one of the strongest and bravest women I know.  We were celebrating her 1 year victory over cancer! These lovely ladies were in attendance: And here’s the table with all our gifts:.. Read More

Completely Wonderful

Have you ever been out and about and just happened upon something completely wonderful?  That happened to us last night. We were originally supposed to go to Nashville this weekend for shopping and to see the Rockettes, but when Kyndall got sick those plans had to be cancelled.  So last night, we decided we would surprise the girls with a trip to see Christmas lights.  We loaded up the car,.. Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans, Take Two

Our elf, Messy, is still a HUGE encourager in the morning wake-up routine.  The girls can’t wait to see what she has done during the night.  This week she has turned our milk green, toilet papered our Christmas tree, hung out in the stockings, delivered a new book, and made a powdered sugar angel.

Monday Memories (A December Daily 2012 post)

Day 1 and 2 of my 2012 December Daily album are mostly finished.  I say mostly finished because there is a slight chance I may go back and add some clip-art or pattern papers before sending them off to the printer.  But I probably won’t. Here we have December 1st: And December 2nd: Instead of doing daily posts on this project, I plan to post every Monday with the previous.. Read More

Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans

Our Elf on the Shelf, Messy, made her appearance this week.  Sometime during the night of the 25th, she came down from the North Pole to stay with us for a while.  She wrote this letter to the girls: Since then, she has taken a marshmallow bath, hung out in the freezer (missing the North Pole temperatures already),   searched for hot chocolate in my snowman drink dispenser, and did a little..
