Guest Post: Kyndall West

So the countdown to Christmas begins.  If you haven’t heard me say it already, I LOVE this time of year!  It’s chaotic and busy and exhausting, but I enjoy every crazy second of it. Kyndall has been wanting to post on the blog for a while now, and she was so excited about her elf coming the other night that I gave in. The following story is brought to you.. Read More

UCP Half Marathon Recap

The great thing about running a race distance for the first time?  No matter how bad, or good, you do–it’s a personal best! I headed to Florence Friday afternoon with several girls from church to carb-load and stay at the hotel where the race starts.  We dined at Ricatoni’s–I stuffed myself with their starter bread and the fettucini alfredo.  Like, literally, stuffed myself.  I think I had two whole loaves.. Runner’s Anemia + UCP Half Marathon Training: 3 weeks to go

This has been my mantra for the week.  After absolutely DRAGGING for the last month or so, I broke down and went to the doctor.  My iron was extremely low, and the doctor recommended a supplement for me.  She said it would take a week or so to build my levels back up, but I should start feeling the effects soon. Fear

The past few nights, we have been working on a new bedtime routine for the girls.  I have always curled up in bed with them until they fell asleep, which sometimes could take a full hour.  Well now, we read a book, say our prayers, and then I tuck them into bed and leave.  Things went pretty well the first few nights, but about three nights ago, K started getting very..
