1. I am reading through The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. I downloaded this book on Kindle a few months ago but never could get going with it. I opened it back up the other day and it has definitely grabbed my attention. I love this: “Enthusiasm is more important that innate ability, it turns out, because the single most important element in developing an expertise is your willingness to practice.”

2. Jase is battling a horrible sinus infection and feels terrible. We have had snot everywhere. (TMI?) It is pitiful, but I am so thankful for a doctor that will call in an antibiotic instead of insisting we come in for an office visit.

Books3. These books arrived yesterday and I can’t wait to dive in. I’ve never read Brene Brown before, but I have seen her wisdom shared everywhere.  I know you aren’t supposed to judge books by their covers, but how can you not when they are this pretty?

4. Kyndall’s soccer team has really shown out this season.  They won their game Thursday night and now they’ll play Monday for the West side county championship. If they win that, they’ll go on to play teams from the East side. As much as I love basketball, soccer is the sport K prefers. I can totally see her playing at the college level.

5. On Thursday, I heard an adult make a really ugly remark about one of my children. You guys, it was all I could do not to go total mama-bear and throat punch someone. But I didn’t and I am so proud of myself. I don’t wear blinders when it comes to my children–they are kids and they are going to mess up–but I think they are awesome and that’s what matters. Not this person and their incorrect opinion.

6. I know you are dying for an update on my Adventures of Learning Spanish. Thanks to Rosetta Stone and my sweet friend Alma, I am really improving at reading and writing espanol.  Me and my southern drawl are still struggling with the speaking part.

#GoGold7. Today our school is honoring Childhood Cancer Awareness month by going gold. We have been raising money to donate to cancer research. This is an issue near and dear to our heart. One of our Kindergarten students is a cancer survivor!

And that’s a wrap. What is something trivial you can share with me?
