Proud Mommy Moment + The Race That Wasn’t

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–my girls LOVE running.  Almost as much as their Mom does 🙂  We were all set and ready for a local race this morning.  I was running the 5K and the girls were running the 1-mile fun run.  If you follow me on Twitter, or caught my ‘Via the Camera Roll’ post, you know that Kyndall even insisted on ‘training’ for this.. Warrior Dash(es)

I have two Warrior Dash medals.  One from Warrior Dash Tennessee and one from Warrior, Alabama. Everyone should do at least ONE obstacle course in their life, and I definitely recommend Warrior Dash.  It’s a short enough distance (3.1 miles) that most people can do it without TOO much training, and that it’s still lots of fun.  Others, like Tough Mudder, seem too long to me.  Maybe I’m just not.. Pile On The Miles, Week 2

Total Miles this Week:  7.5Total Miles this Month: 21.5 November 5:  1 mile with my girls + 3 miles by myself = 4 miles total November 7:  3.5 treadmill miles with Gossip Girl and Netflix.  Plus 2.5 miles walking around the craft show in Birmingham, if you’re counting those.  (I’m not, since I’m pretty sure that is a slight over-exaggeration.  It was TONS of fun though!) My first running injury happened.. Read More

Via the Camera Roll

Hey guys! I’ve been MIA the past few days.  I am in the process of purchasing my own domain and all that jazz, and it’s a bit confusing.  It’s been taking up all my blog thoughts–I guess I’m a lot more technologically challenged than I thought 🙂 Here’s a look at our week from the camera roll on my phone: Last Friday, K was sick.  Went to the doctor and.. Pile on the Miles, Week One

A few days ago, I told you all that I would be participating in Monica’s Pile on the Miles challenge.  Here’s how this week looked: November 1:  1.5 miles with Max through the neighborhood.  This actually should count as triple miles, because Max hasn’t learned how to run on a leash well–lots of bobbin’ and weavin’ when I run with him.  Finished up with 2.5 on the treadmill for a total of.. Pile on the Miles

I’ll be back later today with a Halloween post.  But before I get to that, HELLO NOVEMBER! This day begins my most favorite time of year–from now until the end of January.  I just LOVE the holidays (and my birthday is at the end of January, so that is included!)  This year, I am joining in on Run, Eat, Repeat’s Pile on the Mile’s November challenge.  You can read more about it.. UCP Half Marathon Recap

The great thing about running a race distance for the first time?  No matter how bad, or good, you do–it’s a personal best! I headed to Florence Friday afternoon with several girls from church to carb-load and stay at the hotel where the race starts.  We dined at Ricatoni’s–I stuffed myself with their starter bread and the fettucini alfredo.  Like, literally, stuffed myself.  I think I had two whole loaves.. Yo Aasics, I’m Your Girl!

I came across a post the other day titled So where’s all my free sh*t? .  It made me laugh out loud.  **Warning:  While hilarious, the above mentioned blogger does have a potty mouth!** When I started this blog, it was for a few reasons. I wanted to be able to share our lives with long-distance family. It was a quick and easy version of digital scrapbooking, without the page-designs.  Post.. Read More

Jog.fm + My Updated Half Playlist

If you are a runner, you have probably heard of jog.fm.  It is a website that allows you to choose running songs based on beats per minute.  They have corresponded the beats per minute with mile times, so if you run in tune with the music (or at least close to in tune), you can estimate your time.  I’ve never payed really close attention to this, but I thought I..
