I am not a shopper.  Ask most anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I don’t like to shop.  I do, however, have a family and apparently, we need, you know, clothes and stuff to be able to go out in public.  I also have a day job that requires me to wear more than just workout clothes.  All this has lead me to become the queen of online shopping, and through online shopping I have found several shops with purpose that I love.

And if I have to shop anyways, why not buy something that also helps someone else, right?  In an effort to do my part, other than shopping from these companies, I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you.  Then you can do your part, and by yourself a cute pair of earrings or something 🙂

Noonday Collection
Noonday Collection

Noonday was founded by Jessica Honegger as an adoption fundraiser for Jessica’s own family.  It has since grown to a larger corporation that creates and sustains jobs in vulnerable communities.  I love these carved plum earrings from their shop, as well as the chevron block bag pictured above.

Mercy House is a nonprofit organization that funds maternity homes in Kenya and employs women all over the world.  Mercy House was created by Kristen Welch, author of We Are THAT Family blog.  The Mercy House shop carries jewelry, totes, and shirts.  I’m all about their beaded paper necklaces and bracelets, but I’m especially loving these earrings.  They have a “Mystery Earring of the Month” option and I am currently on the waiting list….. just waiting….

Sevenly
Sevenly

Sevenly partners with a new charity each week and $7 from each item you purchase goes toward that cause.  Charities range from the International Down Syndrome Coalition to TAPS to 4 Paws for Ability.  Products range from tshirts to journals to art prints.  I have ordered this tee, supporting TAPS-an organization that supports children who have lost a parent in military service to America.

Feeding the Orphans was founded by Sydney O’Leary when she was only 10 years old.  Feeding the orphans is an organization that does exactly that–raises money for orphan care.  They have items like shirts jewelry, and bags as well.

Give Back Shack, Better Life Bags, and Punjammies are a few other purposeful shops to check out.  I know there are TONS more, but these are specific ones I have purchased from or researched.

So the next time you shop (or just peruse the internet), check out these merchants.  If you buy something cute, let me know.  OR if you have another shop with purpose, tell me all about it in the comments!
