Welcoming FallI feel like I’m repeating myself when I say I LOVE FALL (because I am!), but I really do so love this season! I’m super excited for cooler temperatures (they will get cooler, right?), orange and yellows outdoors, and pumpkin-all-the-things.  I habitually do a few things every year around this time to get my home ready for the new season.

  1. Bring out all the throws.  The softer, the better.  I especially love this one.
  2. Candles.  I love candles any time of year, but I especially love burning them in the fall.  There is just something cozy and homey about a flaming scented candle.  My favorite are the Bath and Body 3-wick candles.
  3. More pillows for the couch.  I am loving all things ‘map’ lately, so this pillow totally speaks my love language.
  4. Heavier blankets on the bed.  We keep our house really cool all year long, but it gets especially cold in the fall and winter.  I got rid of all our bedding when I bought this new comforter, but I’m looking at something a bit heavier for fall.  I really like this venice set from Parachute Home. (PS:  Parachute Home partners with Nothing But Nets and for every venice set purchased, Parachute Home donates one life-saving bed net to a family in Africa.  In area’s with high coverage, bed nets can reduce the rates of malaria by 90 percent!)
  5. Keep coffee mugs at the ready.  Coffee for me, hot chocolate for the girls and Justin–we are always ready for a hot beverage during the colder months.  The bigger the mug, the better.  I love to have several large mugs available.  These fiesta mugs are my favorites right now.

Have I forgotten anything?  What do you like to do to make your home ready for fall?
