From the Camera Roll: Pre-Spring Break edition

This post was supposed to go out on Saturday, but like the slacker I am, it didn’t happen. Let’s just pretend it’s Saturday as you read this post, ok? 🙂 Today, we are on the road to Orlando with my parents and sis. Lookout Universal Studios! I thought it would be a good idea to do one more ‘from the camera roll’ post before I start loading myself down with.. Read More

Field Trip Fun

Second graders took a trip to the Soil and Water Conservation in our area today.  They learned all about animals, habitats, and plants that are native to Alabama. We walked along a path and then climbed into a ‘lookout’ with a gorgeous view. We watched as a guide dug through the swampy water and pulled out lots of little critters.  He found several crawfish and a few eggs/larvae. We learned.. Read More

David Baldacci….favorite author?!?!

I am a book lover. I’ve not met many books that I don’t like. I tend to love every book that I read, while I’m reading it. It’s only after finishing a book that I can attempt to really judge it.  That being said, I just finished reading The Hit by David Baldacci, and LOVED it. It is the first book in a long time that I have not wanted.. Read More

Public Service Announcement: Stop the Judging, Already!

I read a very touching blog post the other day about the urge to have a ‘perfect’ home when friends come over. The author’s point was that true friends can come over for coffee and conversation and ignore the mess that may or not be your home. That you shouldn’t stress around real friends. Be real. Because, let’s just face it, when you have children, your house is a perpetual.. Read More

Much Ado About Nothing

We’ve been doing a whole lot of nothing the past several days.  On our second no-snow snow day, we went to eat and to walk around the mall.  It was too cold to do much else, but the girls did ride on the ice cream truck: I stared a new book and I’m completely wrapped up in it–Nora Roberts Dark Witch. This is book one of a trilogy.  Book two.. Read More

Resolutions for 2014

This year, I really thought hard about my resolutions.  I decided to pick the most important things I wanted to do, and work on those.  Small steps to a better me (and us—my family!).  After much tossing and turning (I do my best thinking at night in the bed), this is what I decided.  This year, in 2014, my resolutions include: Church.  We go to church every Sunday, but lately.. Post Holiday Break

Merry Christmas!! (Yes, it’s a day late, but that’s ok!).  Right now, we are northbound on the interstate and by this time tomorrow, we’ll be SNOW SKIING!! I have never been before and I’m beyond excited! We had the best Christmas.  The girls slept until almost 8am. All the grandparents came over to see what Santa brought and we spent the morning visiting and playing with new toys. Perfection. I’ll.. Read More

The Story of Panama City Beach

I am currently jamming out to my new Spotify playlist– “Throwback Jams”.  It’s full of songs from my high school days, in celebration of my upcoming 10-year reunion.  Hot in Herre by Nelly, Get Low by Lil Jon, Put It On Me by Ja Rule….I mean, we had the best music ever!  =) We have been at Panama City Beach for the last week with our toes in the water,.. 100 Happy Things

While reading a few of my running blogs, I came across Ali on the Run‘s list of 100 happy things.  I thought it was a GREAT idea, and one I should copy.  This list is a daily work in progress and will be linked on my home page. The purpose of this list is to help me be consistently aware of the little things that make me happy, and all.. Read More
