If you are new here, welcome! Let me give you a quick recap.  In August of 2016, we began building our forever home.  We are our own contractors and are doing a large portion of the work ourselves.  (And when I say ourselves, I really mean my wonderful husband and terrific dad.)  You can find the beginning of our building story here or just jump right to the last update here.

Justin has been telling me to expect a move-in date sometime around the end of March, but last week he slipped up and told someone it may be the end of February, so I am holding him to that date!  Since my last update, they have finished our electrical–wave all the praise hands!  I plan to do a post with all the little things we thought to add, but for now just know that we have outlets everywhere.  {In every single nook and cranny and along every four feet of wall space.  Because heaven forbid we need to plug something in and not be able to. <–This is a little joke between Justin and I.  He’s a big fan of outlets, I don’t want them messing up my pretty walls.}

Our outside vinyl is well on it’s way to being complete.  Please forgive the sub-par photo above.  This time-change/getting dark so early is killing my house photography.

Our insulation is about half-way finished.  (I took a photo of it stapled into the wall, but I think I’ll save you that.  If you are as excited as me about all these little details, just let me know in the comments and I’ll be glad to include the insulation photo. {wink})

The plan is for our sheetrock guys to begin work sometime next week.  I’m not sure how much work they’ll get done as we are nearing the holiday, but I’m hoping it’s a lot!  As soon as the sheetrock is finished, we’ll begin painting.  Next up will be installing flooring and cabinets, giving everything a good cleaning, and MOVING IN!!!  I think all that can be accomplished by the end of February, don’t you?
